Hamilton Terrace

In London’s St John’s Wood, this six-floor family home set in a sprawling garden celebrates indoor outdoor living with wall to ceiling windows and a cantilevered veranda. Key to this project was reconfiguring the space to create a larger living area. We did this by moving the staircase from the centre of the space and connecting the upper and lower ground floors by a double height light well with bespoke commissioned chandelier. This floods both floors with light and allows the spaces to flow freely into each other while still remaining private. A beautiful period building, we celebrated the heritage of this home by reinstating original panelling and cornicing and pairing these features with traditional finishes such as marquetry, chinoiserie and inlaid flooring contrasted with geometric marble.
