The interior architecture of this large double-fronted villa was completely reimagined by Shalini Misra Design, creating a configuration that feels expansive yet welcoming. Cleverly manipulated Victorian architecture is complemented by carefully commissioned work from some of the UK’s most skilled craftspeople and artisans, bringing authenticity and a sense of place to the spacious, light-filled rooms and four-sided mezzanine. The mélange of textures, materials and colours creates a tactile palette, whilst honouring existing period elements through cornicing and ceiling moulding.

Bespoke commissions take centre stage in this property, including a custom version of Lindsey Adelman’s ‘Cherry Bomb Fringe’ light, chandelier by Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt, panelling by Rupert Bevan, leatherwork by Bill Amberg and specially sourced marble throughout.

Shalini Misra Design curated the homeowner’s extensive art collection, which includes Tony Cragg, Anish Kapoor, Ged Quinn, Julian Schnanel and others as well as significant contemporary and vintage design.
